Kayaking & sup Austin Texas
Austin Texas is one of the funnest places to kayak and stand up paddle board. The downtown Lady Bird Lake is where it all happens at. If you google rental shops, you'll find one on each part the lake. That's what makes it so awesome. Each part of the lake has it own vibe and adventure. Here are the few different entry spots to kayak/Sup or launch your own watercraft. If you do have the energy, it is possible to paddle from one side to the other, but make sure you plan ahead.
West Side
Lady Bird Lake
This area is probably the most popular spot and the busiest for sure. Between the ability to paddle up to Bartons springs, where you can swim, and the sand bar for a dj party, this is where most visitors and locals go. The Texas Rowing Center is where you'll want to rent your kayak and paddle board and start your trip. If you have your own water craft, park at the Austin high School and us the boat ramp to launch in. Once you get into Lady Bird Lake, head towards barton springs, and take a dip in the fresh water spring. Best way to cool off during the summer and start the paddle. You can either hang out in the spring fed water way, stop at the sand bar for a party or head towards downtwon for a glimpse of the skyliine. Anyway, it's a blast
Downtown Austin Ladybird Lake.
